Traffic Control Specialist/ Flagger

About the Role:
The Traffic Control Flagger manages traffic flow and ensures the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and construction workers in work zones. This individual should be reliable and have strong communication skills, as they will provide directions and warnings to drivers. A Traffic Control Flagger must be able to identify and respond to potential hazards and must be able to stand for long periods of time in many weather conditions.


The primary duties of a Traffic Control Flagger include:


• Placing signs, cones, and barricades on roads
• Wearing bright and reflective clothing
• Directing traffic with hand signals
• Notifying drivers of upcoming construction work
• Monitoring and controlling the flow of traffic in a safe and efficient manner
• Responding to emergency vehicles
• Checking for vehicles that have ignored traffic signals.
• Monitoring construction workers and pedestrians in the work zone
• Recording and reporting any incidents or accidents


Qualifications for this role include:


Must have a reliable vehicle ** 
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to remain calm and collected in stressful situations.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must be ATSSA Flagger Certified–For individuals without credentials, we will offer training.
